A baby's skin is thinner and more permeable than an adult's, which is why paediatric dermatologists and Tamil grandmothers arrive at the same conclusion from different directions: keep bath time simple and gentle.
The less-is-more principle
Newborns don't need daily soaping — warm water does most of the honest work, with a mild cleanser used sparingly. Strong fragrances and harsh foaming agents are exactly what delicate skin doesn't need.
The traditional bath powder
Generations of Tamil babies were bathed with soft powders of green gram flour and gentle herbs — cleansing without stripping the skin's natural oils. It's a beautiful tradition to continue, mixed fresh into a soft paste; introduce it gradually and watch how your baby's skin responds.
After the bath
Pat dry gently — especially in all those delicious folds — and moisturise with a thin layer of pure coconut oil while skin is still slightly damp. Simple, fragrant-free, done.
Delicate skin deserves ingredients you can name.
In our chemical-free baby-care workshops, mothers learn to read labels and blend traditional bath powders — skills that protect the tiniest customers of all.
